Another: Born Day Celebration

Last night,3/22, I celebrated co-workers, Adesina x KP's birthday party at the ultra wack, super bougie, drug infested (or so I think) Greenhouse! Putting aside my hate for the venue, I headed downtown. A lil' hesitant to go, because I had on a skully, hoody and sneakers and though I would get denied at the door, I decided to try my luck. Suprisingly, I had no problems and slid right in.
En Route

Birthday kids: Adesina &

KP

despite the rain, a lot of people came through to show love...
CeeCee was back in town for a lil' and came out along w/ Furlong

Ali x the homie Aries

Eddie Monsters half brother, Mazzi came out too

and even a camera shy Maddox

Considering all the fun that went down... I almost died! If you've never been to Greenhouse, the upstairs has about a thousand Waterford/Swarovski crystals that hang from the ceiling, as a part of the decor, at about 12:30am, no lie, one of them came crashing down and hit me right smack on the top of the head!
The crystals

A crystal...smh (pic was taking today, 3/23)

The fucking 4lbs crystal came down so hard, that when is was all said and done, this is what I saw...

Soon after, I left and went home, hoping that when I woke later that morning, I would still be alive. Shoutout to the caby, that got me home in under 15 dollars! Holla back "Yun In"

Wu Massacre- In Store 3/30!!!

Art imitates life imitating art, as famed DC and Marvel graphic master Chris Bachalo’s three separate album covers for WU MASSACRE present larger-than-life portraits of three Wu-Tang Clan brothers: One cover for Method Man, one for Ghostface Killah, and one for Raekwon. The three anti-heroes of hip-hop take Wu science and theology to the next step on WU MASSACRE, an adventurous collaboration that moves them closer to the immortality suggested by their individual album covers.

Be Sure to go out and cop all 3, as each are collectors item

More: Born Day Celebrations

Saturday, 3/27, to help bring about good spirit and cheer for a friends birthday, we had one of those thingys at one of those sit down thingys, where they serve food...LOL!

To help celebrate, friend, Lauren's birthday a group of friends, some old and some new, went out to TAO, where we indulged in a late night dinner...smh, but none the less all for Lauren! Happy Born Day kid!!!

There was this Tomb Raider-esk statue, smack dab in the middle of the restaurant and no matter how many pictures I tired to get, none of them where in focus...affirming my weird and sometimes diluted imagination, that it was alive, but just sleeping!

While waiting for our food to come, we had some live music, from Jumanji (I'm sure thats not his name, but I figured it was appropriate)...

Believe it or not, your mans was playing "Happy Birthday"...and going INNNN

While waiting for the food to come, shit got a lil' routy, as the battle of the boroughs began...smh!

But was short lived, when the food came. Being that it was so late (12:30 am), I took, my Nutritionists advice and ordered, not what I wanted, but instead something that was healthier than the crusted salmon rolls and avocado tempura.....boy was it hard, but in the end, I knew it would be better for me. So in the end, I wound up getting edamame and pan sired chicken and soy dumplings.

Before I left, I saw these larger than life Karpe's in the bottom of this weird lake thing.

They say Karpe's are magical creature...what do you think?

As of recent, I've been spending more time at Cooper Union, w/ my boy Trey, as he gears up for his exhibit, The Powers That Be, and some new friends, that I've acquired from my visits mainly because its a world (art) that I find extremely fascinating. While there, this time, I realized that we are all artists working together to paint the picture of LIFE. We may not all be painters, designers, sculptors, photographers, musicians etc. but, we all draw inspiration from somewhere to convey our own messages, that are meaningful to us as individuals. Case in point, Trey, be it a painter, was watching the Untouchables, but from it... I'm pretty sure, he was inspired some way or the other and if not pertaining to art, I'm sure to his personal life.

With respect for Trey and his work, I won't reveal anything, but I will give you all a lil' teaser. Be sure to come through, if your not busy (The Powers That Be @ The Cooper Union NYC)

Despite Saturday's, 3/13, havoc rain and body swaying wind.. I survived and made it out for the, co-op, party for good friends Qiana, as she celebrated her born day & fellow Blogger Assata, as she celebrated her 3 year anniversary of AssataSays.com @ Moomia Lounge. Despite the rain and gusts of wind, we made due and did what we do, best. Had fun, cut a rug and ENJOYed LIFE!

Before going out l asked Brice, if he was down to rolling w/ me, but considering that much of his family and friends had falling victim to the storm, he opted not too and decided to just sleep the rest of the night away.

Brice, morning the lost of his cousin and friend...

Samsonite and...

Isotoner

Not allowing Brice to fuck up my night, I made my way to Moomia

Not sure what shape or thing the cake was suppose to be, but in a matter of minutes it went from this...

to this...

By the time Castro came through, all that was left was some fondant and scraps...

Not caring, he went into beast mode, and began to indulge w/ chop sticks...where they came from... I don't know.. LOL

There was a lot of fancy footwork going on too..

and a whole lot of musical flutes..LOL

"This Little Piggy Went To Market..."

In efforts, to grow up (cringes). I started going grocery shopping, to prevent myself from spending money on things that aren't conducive to living on a budget, like eating out every night. One would think, that I'd have a well balances cart/basket, but its the complete opposite. Whenever I do go grocery shopping there are usually 4 staple items that I NEED! Juicy Juice (flavor doesn't matter), waffles of some sort, apple pie and yogurt. As kid friendly as this sounds, its what makes me happy. But in all seriousness, I HAVE GOT TO GET BETTER.

My City Bad, My City Hood, My City Do Things That Ya' City Wish It Could...

Saturday, 3/6, On the train, on my way home, after a short, but well spent trip to the city I started to think, "NYC is really the only city in the world where everything is readily available and at our service. You can come to NYC to be ANYTHING you want, like really anything. Will it happen? Will it be fate, good fortune, lucky, chance or coincidence.. Who knows? But year after year, thousands of ppl venture to NYC to achieve their goals in hope of becoming that next big thing." Then as I was coming across the bridge, I see this..... (Which in return made sense as to why ppl come to this city.)
