7/8- Trip To Malaysia

Last night, before heading over to Happy Endings, I had a quick dinner meeting with my boi, Silberstein, at this super authentic, shanty town-esq Chinese restaurant, New Malaysia. It was interesting because It wasn't the hood New Fau Lau nor the chic Philippes, but it was veryyyy interesting, as well as an expierence.

7/8- Liquid Crack pt.2

Last night on my way home, I stopped at the store and bout this new Snapple drink. I'm always up for trying new shit, so I figured why not. Its called "Peach Mangosteen: Immunity." From the first sip I was hooked and realized that America finally learned how to sell crack, legally in liquid form!!!
Only thing that kinda stumped me, is Mangosteen. Is that a real fruit? At first I thought it was a joke, until i checked the ingredients and it said "Mangosteen." I dont know wtf it is, but its GREAT!!!

7/4- Independence Day!

America, your 233 years old, broke and no one likes you, but happy Birthday!!!

July 4th was an interesting day for me. Started off watching the Jackson 5 movie on VH1 and had to pri myself out of the bed, not because I was tired, but because I wanted to finish watching the movie. I fucked around and missed out on 40 oz. bounce (let me rephrase, not missed it, but I wasn't going uptown at 5pm, considering I had a bunch of shit lined up. Once out of bed, I made my way to the Stuy for a BBQ, then later to Assata's houe to see the fireworks. A lil' later After downing a couple of Mikes Hard... a bunch of us went/met up at Habanna. Shortly after (hour or so) I found myself in Canarsie/ENY for a backyard alley bashment and then later at a reaallllll yard BBQ!

6/29- Cain X Sway.

Monday night, 6/29, Fabolous x XXL had a party at Cain to celebrate Fab getting the cover...eventhough its him and The-Dream, but whatever. I didn't stay long long, but the time that I did spend there was well spent. Later that night I made my way to Sway, downtown on spring (I swear...It seems like, if I need a party any night of the week to go to, chances are i'll find a poppin' party.).

I told myself, when I reach that ultimate level of success I want these door handles on my shower door...I wanna feel like King Jaffe-Joffer of Zamunda!

Way before anyone got there. Kind of felt like a loser, but had to make sure shit was right, for later...


After Fab came, made his appearence, That was my que to dip. Hoped in a cab w/ a couple of usual suspects and headed down to Sway, where I ran into madd ppl, one of which I was seriously on the verge of knocking out, but once I cooled down, i was good...plus they were drunk, so I let it slide.

On Thursday, despite the untimely passing of the King of POP, Def Jam threw an event @ 105 Rivington. The theme was "Girls Just Wanna...!" DJ Miss Saigon spun the night away playing tunes from the late great MJ.

Growing up, like most, I was always a fan of Micheal Jackson and no exaggeration, when I got the news, it felt as if, I'd lost a family member! I was at my desk, replying to a couple of emails and got a email notification from AllHipHop.com at about 5:20 pm saying that he was rushed to the hospital, seconds later I heard somene in the office say "Micheal Jackson died...?" I stopped shooked my head looked at the time and said "na, this isn't real." Turned on the radio and chimed into developing reports. About 15 minutes later, the devistating news was confirmed!

Micheal touched sooo many, young and old, black and white, of all walks of life and will forever and always be missed!

They say the sophmore album is hardest, but Ace has def. proved that thats just a myth! Every morning/early afternoon, I have a routine I somewhat follow and like to adhere to when online...(Emails, the ocassional Twit, Facebook see whats hot on the streets via blogs etc.) So today, no different than any other I went on FB and Emeka, had a posting of a link to StreetLevel which was tittled "F***ed Up Fairy Tales-- 'Fallen Pincesses.' At first I thought it was a joke, but as I started to read the post, i realized it was an Art exibit by Vancouver photographer Dina Goldstein.

Fairy tales pretty much screwed up our adolescent minds. Our parents lied to us about unicorns and Santa Claus only for us to discover later in life that it was all a ploy to get us to sleep before "Law and Order" came on. As we got older, the concept of "happily ever after" became a far gone conclusion eclipsed by reality. Photographer Dina Goldstein examines the reality of the farce in her upcoming photo exhibit "Fallen Princesses." Placing fairy tale characters in modern day situations and putting a grim spin on the Brothers Grimm. The details of the photo exhibit (like where it will be) are still to be announced, but we can tell you that our inner children will have their fantasies shattered when the exhibit opens on October 15th.

Tuesday morning a very clumsy friend of mine dropped their blackberry in water and paniced! They wound up copping a new blackberry that day, but were going crazy, because they hadn't backed up their contacts since the start of the year and thought they were gone. Like anyone in their shoes, they quickly Youtube'd a video on how to "fix a wet blackberry" and stumbled upon this...

6/13- 1st B'Day

Early last week, was my Godson, Shawn, had his First B'day. His Birthday was earlier in the week, but like all children parties, it took place on Sat.

I remember back when I was little and I had/went to parties, I remember just eating franks and burgers, but things have changed! There was fooooooooood for days at Shawns B'day, but now that I think about it, there was real food at those parties, just not for us...

I tried to give the B'day boy his first drink, but Mommy Dom shut me down...

6/10- Happy Endings

I've heard about this place b4, SEVERAL times, but up until about 2 weeks ago I decided to check it out to, mainly because Assata, was one of the many co-hosts that night.
At first glance, it looks like your about to party at chinese resturant on Nostrand avenue, but once you step inside, you realize its not that bad, and its FREE! the crowd that comes out is a veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy eclectic crowd, but the vibe is cool and the music isn't bad, so in the end thats all that really matters!

6/7- Summer Jam XVI

Sunday, was Hot 97's Summer Jam @ Giants Stadium. For the last 4 yrs. I've gone to Summer Jam, despite me being claustrophobic-in the sense that I don't like horde's of people. Surprisingly, it wasn't that bad. I had a wristband and credentials to go backstage, but I passed, instead I stayed/stood in my seat and watched the show. FYI- backstage at Summer Jam, is like being in a dark concrete alley-way. There's usually always people back there that don't need to be back there and artist entourage's, which by themselves is a story in and of itself.



This was def. planned, considering the game plan was set, friday night when the bomb dropper played "D.O.A."

6/5- Open @ Santos

After weeks and weeks of saying I was going to go... I went! The last time Santos saw me, was for Vashtie's B'day, back in April. Since Tameeka came back from Europe, it only made sense to go now...lol. After leaving the building, I linked up w/ Silberstein and he came too. It was first time to Santos, and was instantly hooked, and muttered to me over the music, "we have to come back next week!" Despite the off and on bullshit rain the turn out wasn't bad at all!

5/29- Rus Love Da Kids

A couple of weeks ago, I had the priviledge of speaking to a few young men at a small charter school in Astoria Queens. A co-worker of mine asked me earlier that week, if I would mine speaking to a couple of boys about my life, who I am, what I do and my journey thus far. At first, because I hate public speaking, I was a lil' apprehensive, but once my fear subsided it was all good. The group, The Gentlemen's Club, that I spoke to was put together by Joe Napolitan, who traded his career, working in the entertainment industry for helping young men, grow into gentleman, teaching them the fundamentals of being respectful, courteous and using proper judgement...Now thats commendable!!!

Luckily, I was able to sneak away from work for about an hour and take the quick trip to queens

I'm glad I went, and was able to talk to them! Surprisingly they were extremely interested in what I had to say. They asked questions like "How much do I make?," "Has an Artist ever been mean to me?," "What H.S. I went to?," etc.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend...unlike the millions of niggas that went to Miami this past weekend, I stayed in NYC and lived life randomly and carefree all weekend long. Sat. 5/23, dressed as if I was going to the gym, I found myself at Assata's house and later at Habana Outpost, where there, comlpetely unplanned, I meet up w/ Maddox (co-worker). Because Maddox had been there for.a while before me and my ppls got there, she already had a table, so when we got there she made whoever was sitting there already move, as if I was the king of Zamunda....
***Sidebar...ITS SUCH A SMALL WORLD, Maddox was w/ about 8 ppl, and weirdly I knew all of them in some, strange, way.

5/20- Happy Endings

Wed. night after the second IDJ showcase, I headed over to Happy Endings aka The Kitty Kat Club (for that night), for Assata & Elle's party. Tired and dressed up (slacks, sweater and shoes) from the showcase, I made myself go to support. In addition to going, just to show support, I ran into a couple of friends and made some new ones too. All in all, tired, dressed up and almost on the verge of passing out, I had a GOOD TIME!

5/20- IDJ Spring Collection

Wed. I kinda had a half-a-day at work...In stead of being in the office, we were all required to go to a showcase downtown NYC tittles "Island Def Jam's Spring Colelction." The showcase displayed what and who IDJ is.
I'm not gonna say to much...but I will say that the decor & feel was fan-fucking-tastic. There were 2 shows one for the comp. and later for media, press and VIPs. Even though i wasn't required to go to the second show, I managed to get in anyway and snagged a gift bag, that was crazyyyyyyyyyyyyy

5/19- Red n' Meth @ Adidas & Greenhouse

5/19, after 10 years, the outlandish, but lovable duo, Redman & Method Man, return to bring you the "Blackout 2." To celebrate the release of the album Def Jam in conjunction w/ Adidas Originals threw a party at the originals store downtown NYC. PThe event was sponsored by Nuevo & Ciroc, Adidas also kept us full w/ mini Mexican treats aka MY DINNER. Later that night, to further bask in the release of the album, I went to GreenHouse, where drinks where bottomless, curtoesy of Tournament Abstantine and the "Green" filled the air! If you know what I mean.

5/18- Def Jam 25 @ 40/40

Last night 5/18, was another Def Jam 25 event, but compared to the last at Flight Club NYC, it was on a more upscale level at NYC's sheek sports club/Lounge, 40/40. Like expected it was a mish-mosh of ppl who all thought they were more important than the next and all thought they needed to be in VIP, more so the ESPN room. Compeletly over the hype and poser in the ESPN room, aka the sardine sweatbox, I made my way to a pvt room, sipped on a glass of Pinot and played a game of pool.
